About The Project
The London Olympics Games, an 80,000-seat athletics stadium and other sports venues in a 500 acre landscaped park – the largest urban park built in Europe for 150 years. Bovis Lend-Lease, headed up the project for the Athletes Village which includes beds for 17,320 athletes during the Olympic Games and 8,756 during the Paralympics, plus shops, restaurants and an ‘International Zone’ in which to meet friends and family. After the games, the village will become part of the overall Stratford City regeneration scheme. One of our clients Galliford Try was contracted to build two of the substantial twelve blocks.
The Olympic Delivery Authority pledged to employ local people, creating a skills legacy for East London in line with Gordon Brown’s promise of ‘British jobs for British workers‘ and is encapsulated in the 106 agreement.
Every worker employed on the park must be eligible to work in the UK, be PAYE and have adequate life and insurance cover. Deploy have a compliant solution to this and have successfully delivered to many more clients.
